Tim Miller, the founder of Avitek, developed his vision for a software development company specializing in the emerging Java technology platform while attending graduate school at CU. Not only does Miller have CU ties, but actually 16 of Avitek's 28 employees are CU-Boulder graduates. "As a Boulder-based technology company, we look for opportunities to give back to the community that tie in with our strong technical foundation," says Avitek's Miller. "It is also a tremendous opportunity to partner with CU where a lot of the ideas were sparked for what Avitek is founded upon today."
