NewsCutter DV, the latest in the line of Avid's leading NewsCutter disk-based news editing systems, is featured at Avid's RTNDA '98 booth, number 417. Avid is also showcase the integration of the NewsCutter DV system with the Tektronix(R) Profile(R) Video Server, offering for the first time a complete best-of-breed edit-to-playback digital broadcast news solution.

NewsCutter DV, a Windows NT-based nonlinear editing system, is designed specifically for news production and offers unparalleled editing flexibility on an affordable PC platform. The NewsCutter DV system will also offer for the first time DV-native editing capabilities that will allow broadcasters acquiring media in a DV format to edit without dubbing back to tape or changing media formats, making DV production faster, easier-to-use and more efficient with no generational loss. NewsCutter DV also supports any other professional acquisition format, including BetaCam and BetaCam SX.
