The Avid Xpress Pro Academic package is designed to bring the professional Avid(R) editing experience to students and educators at an affordable price. It includes Avid Xpress Pro HD software, which delivers real-time multicamera editing and support for multiple SD and HD formats and resolutions - such as Panasonic DVCPRO Panasonic's variant of the DV (Digital Video) format, which provides higher quality by increasing tape speed and track width. It uses metal particle tape for added reliability and also adds a cueing track for enhanced editing.  HD and P2, Sony XDCAM, and Avid DNxHD(TM) encoding for high quality graphics and effects.
