In the magazine's June 4 "The Best of the Business" issue, Herley is named the Best-Managed Small Company for 2001.

AW&ST's annual Best-Managed Company ratings are based on the magazine's proprietary Competitiveness Index. Publicly traded companies' published financials provide the raw data for computing computing - computer  the rankings. The focus of the Index is on critical management measures such as asset utilization, productivity and financial stability.

Each measure is composed of key ratios widely associated with well-run companies.

It is held at Le Bourget airport near Paris, France every odd year, alternating both with the Farnborough International  in Paris on June 19.
