:AVIO AVIO Association pour la Vigilance en matière d'Implants Orthopédiques ) today announced that its TIMCO TIMCO Triad International Maintenance Company (Oscoda, Michigan)  and TIMCO Engineered Systems divisions have partnered with AIM Aviation, Inc. to develop new ballistic and impact resistant cockpit doors for commercial aircraft.

The doors, sold with all parts necessary for installation as a kit, include reinforced jambs and surround structure, keyless entry keyless entry: see lock and key.  and flight deck indication and control.

AIM Aviation, based in Renton, Washington Renton is a city in King County, Washington, USA, immediately southeast of Seattle. The population was 50,052 at the 2000 census. The Washington State Office of Financial Management estimates the 2007 Renton population at 60,290. , will manufacture the door assemblies with the ballistic material while TIMCO will manufacture the reinforced door jambs and entry systems. The product will be Federal Aviation Administration Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), component of the U.S. Department of Transportation that sets standards for the air-worthiness of all civilian aircraft, inspects and licenses them, and regulates civilian and military air traffic through its air traffic control  (FAA) certified with Supplemental Type Certificates issued under TIMCO's Designated Alteration Station (DAS) authority.
