Aviation Capital Group Orders 25 Additional A320 Family Aircraft.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- US-based lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has signed a firm contract for 25 additional A320 Family aircraft, including six A319s, 15 A320s and four A321s. With this order, the wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific LifeCorp will have 121 A320 Family aircraft in its portfolio.

"We decided to add more A320 Family aircraft to our portfolio because of high customer demand," said R. Stephen Hannahs, ACG Group Managing Director and CEO. "The A320 Family is a popular, highly fuel efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft which fits in perfectly with our long term strategy of providing modern and productive aircraft."

"Having ACG, one of the leading aircraft operating lease enterprises, come back for more A320 Family aircraft confirms that this Family continues very much in demand and responds to current and future market needs," said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers. "The A320 Family is clearly the benchmark single-aisle aircraft which features highest passenger appeal combined with the lowest operating costs and lowest fuel burn, making it extremely environmentally friendly."

More than 5,300 Airbus A320 Family aircraft have been ordered and more than 3,200 delivered to almost 200 customers and operators worldwide, making it the world's best selling single aircraft family ever.

Each aircraft features fly-by-wire controls and unique cockpit commonality across the entire Airbus Family. This allows flight crews to fly each aircraft with minimal additional training.

With proven reliability and extended servicing periods, every member of the A320 Family has the lowest operating costs of any aircraft in the same category. The latest models feature additional advanced aerodynamics helping reduce fuel burn even further, making the A320 Family the most environmentally friendly single-aisle aircraft in operation.

The A320 Family has the widest cabin of any single aisle aircraft and this leads to operational advantages such as faster boarding and deplaning times. In addition, the all new cabin design saves on weight and offers the passenger a quieter and roomier experience as well as significantly larger overhead stowage compartments.
