Aviall Elects Alberto F. Fernandez to Board of Directors.

Aviall, Inc. (NYSE:AVL) today announced that Mr. Alberto F. Fernandez, retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. (CASA), the premiere aerospace producer in Spain, and senior executive at the European Aeronautic, Defence and Space Company (EADS), has been elected a member of Aviall's Board of Directors.

In July 2000, CASA merged with EADS, Europe's first transnational and largest aerospace company. While Mr. Fernandez was at EADS, he continued to serve as CEO of CASA EADS and was appointed to the position of head of the military transport aircraft division of EADS in 2000 and President of Airbus Military Company in 2001. He served in all three positions concurrently until he retired from EADS in May 2002. He was, as well, a member of the Executive Committee of EADS and on the Board of Directors at Airbus Industrie. Mr. Fernandez's election expands Aviall's board to nine members.

Before his appointment as CEO with CASA, Mr. Fernandez served as Senior Vice President Administration, Finance and Purchasing with Airbus Industrie, and before that he held several other executive positions with CASA. Prior to his service with CASA, Mr. Fernandez was in the Materiel Division at the Northrop Co. Aircraft Division.

Mr. Fernandez is a native of Madrid, Spain and holds a bachelor's degree from the E.T.S.I.A. (Spanish Official School for Aeronautical Engineers). He resides in Madrid, Spain and has five children.
