AviaBid.com Launches the Internet's First Online Aviation Auction Community and Marketplace.


TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1999--

AviaBid.com launched the Internet's first online aviation auction community on September September: see month.  12th.

The move to create an auction hub for the aviation community fills the void for a market that, until now, has not been exclusively served by the Internet Internet

Publicly accessible computer network connecting many smaller networks from around the world. It grew out of a U.S. Defense Department program called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), established in 1969 with connections between computers at the
 auction space. AviaBid.com aims to provide the aviation professional and recreational community with a meeting place to buy and sell all things aviation based on the dynamic pricing model that online auctioning offers.

AviaBid.com will provide the online auction service for free until the year 2000. Sellers are able to list aviation related items and services free of charge until January January: see month.  2000, after which, a nominal commission rate will be charged for items sold.

Item listing fees will remain free. Buyers and sellers will be allowed to buy and sell all things aviation, such as books, manuals, aviation art, aircraft avionics avionics (ā'vēŏn`ĭks), electronic instruments used in air or space flight; also the design and production of such instruments. Early planes had few instruments, but as aviation and aircraft became more complex, so did instrumentation. , ground equipment, parts, services, radios, pilot accessories and supplies, and even aircraft.

AviaBid.com also offers a comprehensive listing of the world's aviation related websites. AviaBid.com is currently working to provide its member community the ability to send request for quotes and will introduce a parts search capability using industry specific part numbering conventions.

AviaBid.com will look to partner with members of the aviation industry in order to bring its community members best of breed products and services. The net effect will be to build a network of buyers and sellers of goods and services In economics, economic output is divided into physical goods and intangible services. Consumption of goods and services is assumed to produce utility (unless the "good" is a "bad"). It is often used when referring to a Goods and Services Tax.  within the context of an aviation auction site.
