To Avesta's IT Service and Impact Management Solutions --

Avesta Technologies, Inc., a developer of software used for managing information technology service delivery in complex, distributed organizations, announced today the acquisition of Caravelle, Inc. of Ottawa, Ontario, a premier provider of Internet network management and monitoring software. Terms were not disclosed.

Caravelle, founded in 1990, is a leading supplier of Web-based network management products to Fortune 500 corporations that require real-time monitoring of their Internet Protocol-based (IP) intranets and extranets. Caravelle's newest product, IPnetWATCHER is the first web-based, real-time network management solution written in Java to monitor IP networks from either local or remote sites. The product provide complete network management from the convenience of a Web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you. , including configuration, testing, control and status reporting of IP networks.
