Avery Dennison names Keegan executive vice president and global strategy officer.

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 27, 1995--Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE/PSE:AVY) has announced the appointment of Robert J. Keegan, 47, to the newly created position of executive vice president and global strategy officer, effective August 28, 1995.

Keegan will be based at the Company's Pasadena headquarters and will report to Charles D. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer, and Philip M. Neal, president and chief operating officer.

As a key member of senior management, Keegan will have a combination line and staff role. He will oversee a number of the company's key worldwide businesses, including Automotive and Graphic Systems Group worldwide, Label Divisions North America, Soabar Products and Fastener Divisions, Asia Pacific Group, and the company's U.S. and European Chemical Divisions.

In addition, he will play a critical role in assisting Miller and Neal in developing strategies that will direct the company's future activities in the global marketplace.

Keegan comes to Avery Dennison following a 23-year career with Eastman Kodak Company. He joined Kodak in 1972 and held a series of strategic positions, including worldwide marketing director for Consumer Products; managing director of Kodak, New Zealand; director of finance for Kodak's Photographic Products Group, and president of Kodak Spain. Most recently, he served as vice president and consumer imaging business manager for Eastman Kodak Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Keegan earned a bachelor's of science degree in mathematics from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, followed by an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
