Avenue A Appoints New Chief Financial Officer.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2000

Avenue A (Nasdaq:AVEA), a digital marketing optimization company (www.avenuea.com), today announced the appointment of Michael Vernon to the position of chief financial officer.

Vernon replaces Robert Littauer, who will continue as a consultant to Avenue A during the transition period.

Vernon served most recently as executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Park Plaza International in Scottsdale, Arizona. Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Red Lion Hotels. His additional experience includes senior level positions with businesses engaged in utilities, real estate and hospitality services. Vernon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master's in Business Administration, both from Stanford University.

Littauer, who joined the company in 1998, is leaving in order to pursue opportunities with earlier-stage companies.
