Aventis Environmental Science to Acquire Clorox's MAXFORCE Brand and Products.

Aventis Environmental Science, a business unit of Aventis CropScience, announced today that it has reached agreement with The Clorox Company to purchase The Clorox Company's MAXFORCE(R) brand and products for the professional pest control pest control ncontrol m de plagas

 markets. Clorox will continue to sell its consumer insecticides insecticides, chemical, biological, or other agents used to destroy insect pests; the term commonly refers to chemical agents only. Chemical Insecticides
, including those sold under the "Combat" and "Black flag" brands into the consumer markets. The parties agreed not to disclose the price of the transaction.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aventis Environmental Science will have the global rights to sell MAXFORCE(R) to the professional pest control markets. Aventis Environmental Science is already the exclusive distributor for MAXFORCE(R) in Europe and is selling MAXFORCE(R) in South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. .
