Avega Systems Inc, a developer of integration-ready networked technologies for house-wide home entertainment, is launching the Aios Wi-Fi entertainment technology platform, which includes networked music players, graphical hand-held controllers and PC controller software, at CES Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA, on 8-11 January, 2009.

According to the company, Aios networked audio distribution and control technology enables a user anywhere in the home to select among in-home audio media sources including media players, PCs, NAS (1) See network access server.

It is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) A coalition of computer and consumer electronics companies that was formed to ensure interoperability in home networks.  certified while providing improvements to existing DLNA/UPnP open standards, including sample-accurate synchronisation, user interface innovations, efficient multicast and virtual device management.

The technology enables the makers of traditional AV equipment, including receivers, TVs, speakers or table-top radios to add networking connectivity for whole-home access to content as well as access to Internet radio, stored media and other connected content resources.

The company also announced that Cisco Systems (Nasdaq:CSCO), a telecomms networking company, is the first brand partner to license the Aios technology.

No financial details were disclosed.
