Dr. Avedon currently serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources The fancy word for "people." She is an active member of her community, sitting on the Board of Directors for Jersey Battered Women's Services; on the Advisory Board for Cornell University, School of Industrial & Labor Relations, Cornell Advance Human Resources Studies; and the Advisory Board for Rutgers University, Executive Masters in Human Resource Management Program. Dr. Avedon is also a member of the Human Resources Roundtable Group and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists.

Dr. Avedon and her husband, Charles Farrar, reside in Randolph, NJ with their two children, Monica and Alden.
