Avectra Wins Prestigious Northern Virginia Hot Ticket Award; AOL Co-Founder Ted Leonsis Presents Award to Avectra CEO.

MCLEAN, Va. -- Avectra Inc., the leading provider of 100 percent Web-based association management software (AMS) solutions, was selected as the winner of the Northern Virginia Hot Ticket Award for Best Bootstrap. The NVTC Hot Ticket Awards celebrate the efforts of entrepreneurial companies and individuals in the Greater Washington technology community. The Hot Ticket Awards recognize the efforts of local entrepreneurial companies and individuals of the technology community who have exhibited "something special" -- great vision, the ability to implement and deliver results, an innovative management approach or star-quality charisma.

The award was presented by Ted Leonsis, vice chairman and co-founder of AOL (America Online). The award was announced at a poolside party at the McLean home of NVTC President Bobbie Kilberg. Over 450 members of the high technology and venture capital community attended the event.

"We received a record number of nominations this year, and that is a testament to the continued strength of the technology entrepreneurs in the region," said NVTC President Bobbie Kilberg. "The winners and finalists exemplify all the great traits of our local technology community and NVTC is proud to recognize their accomplishments."

The Hottest Bootstrap award recognizes companies that have achieved significant commercial market success without the benefit of external venture funding. Mr. Leonsis presented the award saying, "Avectra's founders started with $5,000, turned a profit in the company's third month, and now has a top line of more than $15 million in revenues with year-over-year growth of 30%."

Barry Malek, CEO of Avectra, accepted the award on behalf of Avectra.
