Avaya and Net6 team to light-up the screens of IP Telephones with high value business apps.

Net6, a network-based application transformation gateway provider, is now shipping its Telephony Transformation Gateway (TTG) designed to deliver screen based applications to IP telephones from Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses. The combined solution enables organizations to use their 4620 and 4630 IP screen telephones as intelligent information appliances to improve employee productivity, increase accuracy of data entry, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce the cost of application delivery.

The combination of Avaya Enterprise Class IP Solutions (ECLIPS) with Net6's TTG delivers new and existing business applications for interaction on the screens of Avaya 4620 and 4630 IP telephones. Lead customer solutions include enterprise applications such as e-mail, calendar, business dashboards, broadcast announcements, time clocks, and order entry, as well as vertical applications that include education attendance, hotel guest services, and retail services for price and inventory checks. These applications can be delivered simultaneously to Avaya's IP telephones as well as to wireless PDAs running Avaya's IP Softphone for Pocket PC.
