: AV), the former Enterprise Networks Group of Lucent Technologies, today announced Unified Messenger(TM) 4.0 for Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox.  2000, with enhanced features to further simplify and integrate communications functionality for enterprises.

Unified Messenger 4.0 has been designed to take advantage of the latest capabilities of Microsoft Exchange 2000, and includes additional unified communication features, such as find-me and callback notification, which allows subscribers to establish various schedules with different phone numbers - such as home or cellular - and receive automatic notification when a particular call or message is received.

Unified Messenger 4.0 for Microsoft Exchange 2000 also makes administration simpler and less expensive because it supports Microsoft Active Directory service and Microsoft Management Console A Windows NT/2000 feature that provides a common environment for running management software from Microsoft and third parties. Any type of administration service such as network management, antivirus management, disk management and authentication can be created as a Microsoft Management  (MMC See MultiMediaCard and Microsoft Management Console. ) snap-ins, providing a single interface for both voice and e-mail administration. For example, if an employee's name changes, the IT administrator only needs to update the Active Directory once for both voice mail and e-mail.
