Avaya, based in Basking Ridge, NJ, is a global provider of communications equipment and services. The company reported revenue of $1.4 billion for the quarter ended September 30, 2001.

Avaya was spun off from FORTUNE 500 Index component Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU) in September 2000.
