Avatier Appoints Software Pioneer Seymour Rubinstein as Director of Business Development; Rubinstein Brings 40 Years of Technology Expertise to Leading Identity Management Company.

Rubinstein Seymour Ivan Rubinstein (born 1934) is a pioneer of the PC software industry. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and later moved to California. Programs developed partially or entirely under his direction include WordStar, HelpDesk, and Quattro Pro, among others.  as Director of Business Development. Rubinstein joins Avatier with an impressive reputation in all aspects of business and product development and operations. A distinguished luminary in the field of microcomputer software, Rubinstein is best known for founding MicroPro International Corporation. There he designed and sold 7 million copies of WordStar, the first commercially successful word-processing program operating on a microcomputer, setting a new standard against the standalone word processors in use at the time. Most recently, Rubinstein served as President of Prompt Software, where he secured four international software patents for text research and provided support for numerous collegiate research projects. In 1986, Rubinstein founded, Surpass Software Systems which was sold to Borland International who renamed the product QuattroPro. Previously, as vice president of marketing at IMSAI Manufacturing Corp., Rubinstein tripled the company's revenues in one year, and wrote and signed the first contract with Bill Gates and Paul Allen of Microsoft and Gary Kildall of Digital Research for CP/M (Control Program for Microprocessors) A single user operating system for the 8080 and Z80 microprocessors from Caldera, known since 2002 as The SCO Group. Created by Gary Kildall of Digital Research, CP/M had its heyday in the early 1980s. .
