In the United States, rebates were historically given by railroads to favored shippers as a return on transportation charges.  for its award-winning Shark 250 mobile hard disk drive with mini-removable media.

The Shark 250 suggested street price was reduced from $299 to $249, and the $50 mail-in rebate program has been extended through the end of the year.
