Avant-garde potter Suzuki dies at 74.


TOKYO, April 9 Kyodo

Osamu Suzuki, an experimental ceramist who helped found the Sodeisha group of avant-garde potters, died Monday of cancer of the esophagus at a hospital in Saga Prefecture, southwestern Japan, his family said. He was 74.

Born in Kyoto in 1926, Suzuki formed Sodeisha with other avant-garde potters such as Kazuo Yagi ya·gi
