Avanquest launches Parallels.

Parallels and Avanquest UK have announced that it is bringing virtualization An umbrella term for enhancing a computer's ability to do work. Following are the ways virtualization is used.

Hardware Virtualization
Partitioning the computer's memory into separate and isolated "virtual machines" simulates multiple machines within one physical computer.
to Windows Vista The current version of Windows for the desktop. It was released in late 2006 for businesses and early 2007 for consumers.

Vista adds numerous features, including improved security and advanced multimedia capabilities.
through Parallels Workstation Virtual machine software from Parallels, Inc., Renton, WA (www.parallels.com) that allows versions of Windows and Linux to run on the same x86-based PC. Parallels Workstation supports Windows 2000, XP and Vista client operating systems, Windows 2000 and 2003 server versions, as well as  2.2 for Windows and Linux, the easy-to-use desktop virtualization Simultaneously running multiple copies of the same operating system or different operating systems on a desktop computer. See virtual machine.  software that enables users to simultaneously run multiple operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. In practice, many of these groupings may overlap.  on any PC running Linux or Windows including Windows Vista. Parallels Workstation supports the entire Windows family (3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP and Vista), Linux distributions (Red Hat, SuSE, Mandriva, Debian and Fedora A free distribution of the Linux kernel from Red Hat along with a variety of open source utilities. Technical support is not provided for any of the Fedora distribution, only for Red Hat's full fee-based subscription of Linux.  Core), FreeBSD, OS/2, eComStation and MS-DOS MS-DOS

. Each virtual machine can be expanded to full-screen or run in a smaller window as desired. Multiple operating systems can be run in full on a single machine at near native speeds, ultimately reducing the number of physical machines required. Old operating systems, legacy applications, BETA releases and even in-house software testing can all be performed on one machine. This greatly increases productivity for the user while lowering costs for businesses. The Shared Folders utility allows files, folders and documents to easily be navigated and shared between operating systems and applications. Parallels Workstation is ideal for anyone migrating or wanting to try a new operating system such as Windows Vista. Install Vista as a virtual machine allows users to explore Vista in a safe, stable, secure virtual environment, experiment with different configurations and to ensure that all their applications and hardware are compatible without compromising the stability of their computer. This is especially ideal for corporations evaluating Vista for large-scale deployment. Users who have converted to Vista can also use Parallels Workstation to run Windows XP alongside Vista, ensuring a quick solution if any incompatibility issues do surface, or to help smooth the transition to a new operating system. The virtual machines can also be zipped, and loaded on any machine with Parallels Workstation, allowing remote users to take a fully functioning copy of their machine with them. Ideal for consultants or salespeople who are on the move, and who may also need access to a variety of platforms for work or demonstration purposes.
