Avanade Inc. Appoints Senior Leaders.

SEATTLE -- Avanade Inc., the leading technology integrator specializing in the Microsoft enterprise platform, today announced the appointment of Dale Christian as Chief Information Officer and Richard Stern as U.S. East Region General Manager.

As Chief Information Officer, Christian will direct the continued development and management of Avanade's global technical infrastructure and applications architecture, which serves more than 5,000 professionals working across 39 locations in 20 countries. He also will work closely with Microsoft to maintain Avanade's position as an aggressive early adopter of Microsoft enterprise technologies.

A veteran IT executive, Christian spent the last 14 years with Microsoft Corporation where he led a cross-IT organization of over 250 people managing 130 applications. During this time, he led the development of critical applications used by Microsoft employees in IT infrastructure, operations, procurement and finance. Prior to joining Microsoft, Christian spent seven years with Andersen Consulting, specializing in distributed computing systems for the manufacturing and distribution industry.

As the new U.S. East Region General Manager, Richard Stern will direct Avanade operations in the eastern region of the U.S., from Maine to Virginia, including Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia.

Stern brings Avanade more than 23 years of consulting and business experience, having most recently led Resolute as the company's president and chief operating officer. Prior to Resolute, Stern served as Managing Principal and Director of Hewlett Packard's East Sub-Region, responsible for the company's Enterprise Application services business and mainframe migration business. Before joining HP, Stern spent six years at Microsoft as General Manager of Services for the U.S. Industry Solutions Group, where he managed a team of more than 500 people who were responsible for collaborating with partners and customers to bring Microsoft-based solutions and services to market in commercial industries.
