AvalonBay Communities Revises Record Date for Fourth Quarter 2004 Common Stock Dividends.

) previously announced a dividend on the Company's Common Stock (par value $0.01 per share) of $0.70 per share payable on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 to all Common Stockholders of record as of Monday, January 3, 2005. The Company announced today that its Board of Directors declared a change in the dividend record date for this dividend. The new record date is Friday, December 31, 2004. The payment date of January 18, 2005, and the dividend rate of $.70 per share remained unchanged. January 3, 2005, will not be a record date for determining Common Stockholders entitled to dividends on the Company's common stock.
