Avalon-Borden Companies Inc. Enters Into Agreement With BT Alex. Brown.


MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 1998--Avalon-Borden Companies Inc. announced Friday that they have entered into an agreement with BT Alex. Brown Inc., the investment banking arm of Bankers Trust The Bankers Trust is a historic American banking organisation that was acquired by Deutsche Bank in 1998.

It was originally set up when banks could not perform trust company services.

Brown to be the exclusive agent for Avalon-Borden's acquisition of the Reynolds Metals Reynolds Metals Company (RMC) was the second largest aluminum company in the United States, and the third largest in the world. The company became well-known for the consumer product Reynolds Wrap as well as being a leader in developing and promoting new uses for aluminum;  facilities in Muscle Shoals Muscle Shoals, town (1990 pop. 9,611), Colbert co., NW Ala., on the Tennessee River opposite Florence; inc. 1923. Chemicals, truck trailers, and nuts, screws, and bolts are manufactured. , Ala.

Sterne, Agee & Leach Inc. will assist with negotiations on behalf of Avalon-Borden Companies Inc.

Chairman of the board for Avalon-Borden, Jim Bohannon James E. "Jim" Bohannon (born January 7, 1944[1]) is a broadcaster who has worked in both television and radio.

During the 1980s he was a fill-in for Larry King when King had his popular nighttime national radio program.
