Avalon Adds Two Operating and Programming Executives.

OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2001

Avalon Correctional Services, Inc. (Nasdaq:CITY), announced that Marvin Wiebener has been appointed Vice President of Programs, and Clinton Johnson has been appointed Vice President of Oklahoma Adult operations.

The two bring more than 50 years of combined operating and programming experience to Avalon, and provide additional management experience to expand the Company's community corrections programs.

Marvin Wiebener's responsibilities will include the Company's juvenile operations in addition to the implementation and direction of a comprehensive review of program functions. As Vice President of Oklahoma Adult operations, Clinton Johnson's responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategies to maximize operations in the state of Oklahoma. Both positions will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Mr. Wiebener, with his more than 25 years of experience, brings to Avalon an extensive background in juvenile operations. During his career, Marvin spent 20 years with the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs, honing his expertise by providing administrative and programming counsel to juvenile and youthful offenders youthful offenders n. under-age people accused of crimes, who are processed through a juvenile court and juvenile detention or prison facilities. In most states a youthful offender is under the age of 18. . Mr. Johnson's area of expertise includes extensive community sentencing knowledge and the operation of community and treatment-based adult correctional facilities.
