Based at Avaki's Burlington, Mass. headquarters, Muzilla will be responsible for leading the company's strategic direction and managing overall marketing functions.

Most recently, Muzilla was vice president of marketing at Openpages Inc., a Westford, Mass.-based provider of enterprise content management systems for the financial services and media markets. There he led marketing, product management and business development activities. Prior to that, he served as vice president of marketing at Tewksbury, Mass.-based Bowstreet Inc., where he led the initial product marketing and product management efforts for one of the first Web services infrastructure companies. Muzilla has also held senior marketing and product management positions at Lotus Development Corporation; at an enterprise software unit of Samsung Electronics Information Systems; and at a software division of Eastman Kodak Company.
