Availigent's High Availability Solution Now Supports HP Linux-Based XC Clusters; ''Always On'' Duration(R) 2.1 Software Protects XC Environments.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Availigent, a leading provider of transparent and automatic high availability software for Linux platforms, today announced that its Duration 2.1 software is now available for HP XC System Software V2.1. Duration ensures less than five minutes downtime a year for process management and job scheduling services and functions within XC environments through its automatic fault detection and recovery capability. Availigent said Duration will also support the recently released XC 3.0 software and is collaborating with HP to support releases planned for later this year.

Mitchell Ratner, vice president-product management for Availigent, said Duration currently provides head node support for XC, with support for clustered and parallel applications using either TCP/IP or Message Passing Interface (MPI) for interprocess communications and synchronization. Ratner said future releases of Duration will support other XC-related services and applications.
