Availant Inc., a leading provider of availability management software and services, today announced that Chanchal Samanta has joined the company as chief technology officer, responsible for driving the company's product and technology strategy.

Nick Minutillo assumes a new role as vice president of product marketing, reporting to Samanta. Samanta and Minutillo will lead the continuing development of Availant Manager(TM), the company's flagship availability management product.

Chanchal Samanta joins Availant from Veridiem, a marketing performance management company, where he was chief technology officer. Previously he held management positions with Genesys Labs, provider of call center solutions for customer relationship management, as senior vice president and general manager of the e-commerce division, and Fidelity Investments Fidelity Investments is a group of privately held companies in the financial services industry. It is made up by two independent but closely cooperating companies, Fidelity Management and Research Corporation (FMR Co.  as vice president of technology solutions. Samanta's considerable expertise includes product strategy, product development, product architecture and design of high performance applications, and experience with enterprise-scale systems, including Internet applications, transaction processing, CRM and call center technologies.

Nick Minutillo has been named vice president of product marketing after recently serving as Availant's acting CTO. He joined Availant in 1996 to focus on design and implementation of Web-based systems management tools. In 1999, he was appointed lead product architect for Availant Manager, which he helped engineer from concept to market. A recognized XML XML
