OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Showcasing the company's ongoing commitment to providing customers with fresh, quality menu choices, McDonald's(R) new Asian Salad will be available nationwide beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25th, The new Asian Salad is the latest addition to McDonald's Premium Salad line. It is offered a la cart or as a part of a new Go Active!(TM) Happy Meal(R) for Adults available through Monday, May 22, 2006.

The new McDonald's Go Active! Happy Meal for adults features any Premium Salad, including the new Asian Salad, for a suggested retail price of $4.29 (prices and participation may vary), a Dasani(R) water or medium or larger drink and one of four customizable Yourself!Fitness workout DVDs which are provided in sequence, while supplies last. This is the second McDonald's Go Active! Happy Meal for adults offered by the company, as a part of McDonald's commitment to educating consumers on the importance of food and energy balance through the company's "it's what i eat and what i do(TM)" initiative. The first, in 2004, resulted in more than 15 million Stepometers being distributed to encourage increased awareness of one's activity level and to inspire greater physical activity through walking.

With McDonald's latest offering, the preliminary part of the "its what i eat and what i do" equation is celebrated through McDonald's new Asian Salad -- a colorful mix of warm orange-glazed grilled or crispy chicken, and exotic Asian vegetables including edamame, crispy snow peas, and thinly sliced red bell peppers, with juicy mandarin oranges and up to 16 types of fresh premium greens. The salad is accompanied by all-natural Newman's Own(R) Lighten Up! (R) Sesame Ginger salad dressing and a package of sliced, toasted almonds, on the side.

"In creating the Asian Salad we specifically focused on two areas: flavor and texture," said Dan Coudreaut, Executive Chef, McDonald's Corporation. "We found wonderful texture in the tender edamame and crunchy almonds and Asian-inspired flavor in the orange-glazed chicken and juicy mandarin oranges - all complemented with a vibrant Sesame Ginger dressing."

The latter part of "it's what i eat and what i do" McDonald's balanced active lifestyle program, is demonstrated through the Yourself!Fitness DVDs. The DVDs, exclusive to McDonald's, feature Maya, a virtual personal trainer, and offer fifteen-minute workouts. Each DVD focuses on a specific program: Yoga, for relaxation and rejuvenation; Cardio, for burning calories and boosting metabolism; Core, for strengthening the abs and spine; and Strength, for toning and tightening. Each is also customizable and allows users to select fitness levels and which fitness equipment, if any, to be incorporated into their workouts.

McDonald's introduced the Premium Salad line in 2003, selling more than 133 million salads in the first year. Tomorrow, in 2006, McDonald's has sold more than 500 million salads and continues to offer taste variety and unique ingredients to meet customers' changing pallets.
