Avago Technologies Launches Next-Generation Millimeter-Wave Integrated Circuit Devices.

High-Performance, Reliable MMICs Target 3G Mobile Base Stations, Enterprise-Level Connectivity and Fiber-to-the-Building Links

SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, Calif. -- Avago Technologies Avago Technologies is an American company which was earlier the semiconductor products division of HP and later Agilent Technologies, before being spun off into a distinct legal entity. It holds more than 2,000 patents.  today announced a comprehensive line of millimeter wave MMICs designed for next-generation communication networks. The company is a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications. Offering superior linearity, Avago's new series of millimeter wave products include power amplifiers Power amplifier

The final stage in multistage amplifiers, such as audio amplifiers and radio transmitters, designed to deliver appreciable power to the load.
, low noise amplifiers, general purpose amplifiers, mixers and multipliers. Available in "bare die See bare chip. " or surface mount packaging, these MMICs are optimized to provide design flexibility and faster time to market for designers of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint type wireless communication infrastructure applications.

All of Avago's next generation millimeter wave MMICs are available in a 5x5 mm surface mount package or in chip, making the product easy to store, manage and integrate. The MMICs support a wide range of radio bands and deliver industry-high performance levels. Additionally, Avago leverages its own mass manufacturing expertise obtained from its wireless handset operations to reliably deliver high-quality MMIC (Monolithic Microwave IC) An integrated circuit used in high-frequency applications such as mobile phones. Also known as "monolithic microwave/millimeter-wave IC," MMICs combine transistors and passive devices (resistors, capacitors, etc.  products in high volume amounts.

New to the Avago family are the following:

* AMMC/P-6408 Power amplifier: 6-18 GHz, a broad band 1W power amplifier. The MMIC is optimized for linear operation with an output 3rd order intercept point The point to which an airborne vehicle is vectored or guided to complete an interception.  (OIP OIP Office of International Programs

* AMMC-6550: Image reject mixer mixer, either of two electronic devices in which two or more signals are combined. In the type of mixer used in radio receivers, radar receivers, and similar systems, a signal is translated upward or downward in frequency. , 15-50 GHz, supports a wide range of radio bands with 20 dBm image rejection ratio In reception using heterodyning in the tuning process, the image rejection ratio, or image frequency rejection ratio, is the ratio of (a) the intermediate-frequency (IF) signal level produced by the desired input frequency to (b) that produced by the image frequency. . It operates from a .4 V bias with almost zero current consumption.

* AMMC/P 6545 Mixer: Sub-harmonic pumped mixer, supports 18-45 GHz with the injected in·ject·ed

* AMMC/P-6222/6232: High linearity low noise amplifier: 7-32 GHz feature best in class linearity of 29 dBm for superior network coverage, high gain of 25-27 dB and low noise figure of 2.3-2.8 dB.

* AMMC/P-6522/6532 Multi-function LNA/Image reject mixers: support 7-34 GHz. A broadband integrated receiver with NF 2.5 dB and image suppression of 15dBm. Ideal for cost effective alternative to multi-chip solution that have higher loss and complex assembly.

* AMMC/P-6421 Power amplifier: 10-18 GHz, provides P1dB of 30 dBm at frequency range of 12-16 GHz with 23 dB gain. The AMMC/P-6421 operates from a single 5 V bias at 500 mA.

* AMMC/P-6333 Driver amplifier 17-33 GHz, features a high gain of 22 dB at 4 V and high linearity of 23 dBm at 4 V. The AMMC/P-6333 operates from a single voltage supply of 4 V at 290 mA.

With the exception of the AMMC/P-6333/6421/6532 devices, products are available now through Avago's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners. Pricing for the AMMC/P products range from $25.80 to $42 in low volume quantities. Avago's AMMC/P-6333/6421/6532 will be available in Q3'07.

Additional products that will be available later this year include: AMMP-6425: 1W Power amplifier, 18-28 GHz; AMMP-6430: 1W Power amplifier, 27-32 GHz; and AMMP-5024 Wide band amplifier, 30 kHz-40 GHz.
