Avago Technologies Announces Reliable, Easy to Use Magnetic Encoder Solution for Angular Detection in Industrial Applications.

New Integrated Non-Contact Encoder Provide Designers with a 360-Degree Angular Detection Solution in a Cost-Effective, Compact Package

SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, Calif. -- Avago Technologies Avago Technologies is an American company which was earlier the semiconductor products division of HP and later Agilent Technologies, before being spun off into a distinct legal entity. It holds more than 2,000 patents. , a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications, today announced a new series of compact non-contact magnetic encoders for use in industrial applications that operate in harsh conditions. Avago's AEAT-60xx series of magnetic encoders provide designers with a reliable, cost-effective and easy to use integrated solution for angular detection within 360-degrees. Moreover, this magnetic encoder is ideal for use by designers of industrial flow meters flow meter

The AEAT-60xx series of non-contact magnetic encoders, which comes in a round cylinder package that's 23 mm in diameter - as round as a Quarter (U.S. coin) -- and 23 mm tall, provides designers with an integrated solution for angular detection in a small form factor package. Priced competitively at about half the price of absolute encoders available from other housed absolute encoder suppliers, the AEAT-60xx encoder series are designed to provide reliable performance in industrial applications that operate under high temperatures.

Today's industrial designers want smaller, more reliable encoders as end products continue to shrink in size, and the required capacities of these devices grow. As a result, designers are looking for Looking for

smaller absolute encoders to use in their feedback system that are more accurate, more reliable and at a lower cost. Avago's AEAT-60xx series of magnetic encoders were developed to meet these design requirements.

Based on magnetic technology, the AEAT-60xx series has the ability to provide absolute angle detection upon power-up, with a resolution of 0.0879 degrees (12-bit versions) or 0.35 degrees (10-bit versions), which are equivalent to 4096 and 1024 positions per revolution respectively. Moreover, there is no upper speed limit - the only restriction is that there will be fewer samples per revolution as the speed increases.

Avago's AEAT-60xx series of magnetic encoders come complete with housing and are available in 4, 6 and 8 mm shaft diameters. A PCB PCB: see polychlorinated biphenyl.
