Auxier takes reins at Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield High School Springfield High School may refer to:

 didn't have to look far for someone to take over the boys basketball program.

Dusty Auxier, a former standout player and assistant coach for eight seasons for the Millers, has been named the new head coach at Springfield. He takes over for the retiring Jim Fryback, who was in his second tenure as the Millers' head coach.

`I've been an assistant for four different head coaches at Springfield,' Auxier, 34, said. `I've always wanted to run a program and put my own stuff in. I've learned from good people, and I'm ready I'm Ready is the double platinum second release from R&B singer Tevin Campbell. I'm Ready yielded the biggest R&B hit of his career the #1 R&B smash "Can We Talk", and produce 3 more successful hits in "I'm Ready", "Always In My Heart" and "Don't Say Goodbye Girl".  to try it for myself.'

In his senior season in 1987, Springfield won the Midwestern League title and opened the tourney tourney: see tournament.  with an upset victory over third-ranked Corvallis before losing a two-point decision to Clackamas. One of Auxier's teammates was point guard Doug Piquette, now the head coach at Thurston.

The Millers are coming off one of their most successful seasons.

Springfield claimed its first conference crown since 1987 with a 12-4 mark and finished with an 18-8 overall record. The Millers lost two straight games in their first tournament appearance since 1989.
