Autopsy: Minn. boys found in ice drowned

Two young brothers whose bodies were recovered from lake ice accidentally drowned, according to an autopsy report released by the FBI Tuesday.

Tristan White, 4, and Avery Stately, 2, died of "probable fresh water drowning," according to the autopsies performed by the Ramsey County coroner. The report also ruled the deaths were accidental.

A search team found the bodies of the two boys Sunday encased in ice in a small lake near their home on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, near the Canadian border. They went missing on Nov. 22, 2006, prompting a large-scale search.

FBI officials earlier said it was possible that the boys had wandered onto the partially frozen lake and fell through thin ice.

The FBI has yet to release full details of the autopsy report.
