Autonomy Signs Global Deal With Compaq.

Autonomy today announced a global agreement with Compaq through which Autonomy will become the recommended technology of choice for clients of Compaq's Global Services Division requiring solutions for the management of unstructured information.

Compaq's Global Services division has 27,000 employees. Under the terms of the agreement, Compaq will recommend Autonomy as the solution for managing and personalising unstructured data Data that does not reside in fixed locations. Free-form text in a word processing document is a typical example. Contrast with structured data. See free-form database.  in Compaq's clients' applications, across the globe. Compaq will also handle all project support and integration issues, investing in an EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Refers to that region of the world. For example, one might see products packaged differently for the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.  (Europe, Middle East and Asia) Knowledge Management Competency Centre based in the U.K and Ireland, which will be staffed by specialists trained in Autonomy's technology.
