Autonomic Computing Closer to Reality with Netuitive Trusted Triggers(TM); Netuitive to Provide 'Missing Ingredient' for Autonomics.

RESTON, Va. -- Forward thinking businesses are beginning to consider autonomic computing Refers to computer systems and networks that configure themselves to changing conditions and are self healing in the event of failure. "Autonomic" means "automatic responses" to unpredictable events.  strategies to better and more cost-effectively manage their IT infrastructure, but they lack the confidence to introduce self-governing autonomics into their environments. Netuitive, Inc., the leader in real-time analysis software for business service management (BSM BSM Business Service Management

Manual control over business-critical environments is time consuming, expensive and error prone -- the increasing system complexity has reached a level beyond human ability to manage and secure effectively. This challenge has given rise to increasing automation for change, configuration, incident and problem management, along with the rapid advancement of virtualization An umbrella term for enhancing a computer's ability to do work. Following are the ways virtualization is used.

for networking, storage and servers. The notion of autonomic computing integrates all of these innovations -- enabling a system to self-optimize, self-configure and self-heal.

However, autonomic computing systems will be ineffective or even disastrous if self-healing actions are based on faulty assumptions. Thus the information that triggers a corrective action A corrective action is a change implemented to address a weakness identified in a management system. Normally corrective actions are instigated in response to a customer complaint, abnormal levels if internal nonconformity, nonconformities identified during an internal audit or  must be fact-based and trusted. Netuitive Trusted Triggers solve one, if not the most complex, challenge in materializing even the most simplistic sim·plism

 vision for autonomics.

"Netuitive is already proven to automate business service monitoring -- and now our most sophisticated customers are asking for more," says Daniel Heimlich, vice president of marketing at Netuitive. "They're asking us to take our cross-platform solution one step further by integrating with their existing change and configuration management tools. They see Trusted Triggers as the 'missing ingredient' for closing the autonomics control loop."

Trusted Triggers are the first mathematically-verified alerts of their kind, leveraging Netuitive's Real-time Analysis Engine technology. The Real-time Analysis Engine has been developed during more than fifteen years of academic and commercial research, is backed by eight U.S. patents and is the underlying technology for Netuitive's popular Netuitive SI and Service Analyzer analyzer /ana·ly·zer/ (an´ah-li?zer)

 products.

Netuitive's real-time analysis software determines the health of IT environments using self-learning mathematical algorithms, and automatically isolates the root-cause of a service degradation. When root-causes are identified, Netuitive delivers a Trusted Trigger to existing change and configuration management tools to initiate a remedial action A remedial action is a change made to a nonconforming product or service to address the deficiency.

Rework and repair are generally the remedial actions taken on products, while services usually require additional services to be performed to ensure satisfaction.
. The resulting alarm/trigger is trusted because it is based on learned behavior patterns and defined by business policies set by IT administrators that direct specific IT actions. Netuitive plans to integrate its technology with leading change and configuration management solutions in the industry, in the very same way that it integrates with best-of-breed monitoring tools today.
