Automotive nonwovens.


Gates Formed-Fibre Products, Auburn, ME, recently introduced two new environmentally friendly Environmentally friendly, also referred to as nature friendly, is a term used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.[1]  products for the automotive segment of the nonwovens industry. Both products are available without any backcoatings or additives. The first product, for package tray applications, is made of polyester fibers with binder fibers, has excellent abrasion abrasion /abra·sion/ (ah-bra´zhun)

The second product, "Conform Plus," uses natural fibers in conjunction with thermoplastic A polymer material that turns to liquid when heated and becomes solid when cooled. There are more than 40 types of thermoplastics, including acrylic, polypropylene, polycarbonate and polyethylene.  fibers and is typically configured in a core-sheath construction with the thermoplastic fiber on the outside and the natural fiber on the inside. Applications include package trays, door panels, map pockets and console pockets.
