Automated Securities Clearance, Ltd. Launches BRASS.COM.

WEEHAWKEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1999--

Automated Securities Clearance, Ltd. (ASC), announced today the release of the BRASS Customer Order Management product: BRASS.COM, which allows brokerage firms to provide Internet based market data, order entry and management capabilities to their:

- Institutional customers,

- Retail customers, and

- Correspondent broker/dealers.

This powerful new tool will integrate ASC's BRASS (Brokerage Real-time Application Support System) Transmission System or any other broker equity trading system with an internet trading system, or any other electronic trading system, through the industry standard FIX 4.0 protocol. This integration will empower a brokerage firm's customer base to electronically trade with that firm's trading desk.

The BRASS Transmission Service is the dominant sell-side equity trading system, processing over 50% of the NASDAQ order flow. Traders utilizing the BRASS system are responsible for providing the liquidity and execution functions for the majority of trades via the Internet.

The BRUT ECN (the BRASS Utility L.L.C.), a leading electronic communications network that provides direct access to the NASDAQ marketplace, and AXIS Global L.L.C., a provider of proprietary wireless technology for straight-through processing of NYSE trades, will be among the first broker/dealers to offer this product to their customers.
