Automakers Use New Breed of Technology to Stay Profitable.

TROY, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 2002

Engineous Software Inc., a finalist in the 2002 Automotive PACE Awards for its integration, automation, and design improvement software iSIGHT and related strategic services, announced today that it will host an Executive Seminar to communicate with Suppliers how automakers are implementing design improvement technology to impact the four most critical issues in the automotive industry The automotive industry is the industry involved in the design, development, manufacture, marketing, and sale of motor vehicles. In 2006, more than 69 million motor vehicles, including cars and commercial vehicles were produced worldwide. : weight reduction, cost reduction, quality, and productivity.

The seminar will feature presentations by three distinguished guests from the auto industry: Dr. David Cole David Cole may refer to:

, President of CAR (Center of Automotive Research), will discuss the current and future trends in product design and engineering; Dr. Steve Rohde, Director of GM's Engineering Process & Math Strategy organization, will share GM's plan in implementing math-based technologies; and Ms. Mary Fortier, Engineering Group Manager of GM's Robust Synthesis and Engineering group will discuss the process and results of implementing iSIGHT at GM. Executives from over twenty tier-1 Suppliers have registered to participate.

The presenters will share real-world examples of how automakers are implementing design improvement technology. They will also discuss how this new breed of technology will continue to impact the auto industry in terms of productivity, design for six-sigma deployment, weight reduction, and improved engine performance and fuel economy.
