Ford's World Excellence Awards are given to its global suppliers to acknowledge their exemplary performance in 2006. More than 150 people, including representatives from Ford's largest production and non-production global suppliers, attended the ninth annual awards event at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. on April 17, 2007. The World Excellence Awards recognize suppliers who achieve the highest levels of quality and delivery at the lowest cost, while also affirming the diverse cultures, values, and ideas of the thousands of individuals they employ. Autoliv was awarded honors in the Gold, Silver and Recognition of Achievement categories. The Gold and Silver Awards are given to suppliers that excel in quality, cost and delivery. The Recognition of Achievement Award is given to suppliers that impact customer satisfaction by providing significant contributions in key areas: New Consumer-Focused Technology, Consumer-Driven Six Sigma Not to be confused with Sigma 6.
