Autodesk reports third quarter results; design automation leader shows sales growth in all geographic regions.

) Thursday Thursday: see week.  reported net revenues for the quarter ended Oct. 31, 1994, increased to $108.2 million compared to $98.2 million for the same quarter in the prior fiscal year, an increase of 10 percent.

Net income for the third quarter was $15.9 million, or $.32 per share, compared with $14.9 million, or $.30 per share, in the prior fiscal year.

The company's increase in third quarter net revenues was primarily attributable to strong sales of products adjacent to AutoCAD A full-featured CAD program from Autodesk that runs on PCs, Macs and Unix workstations. AutoCAD is a de facto standard with numerous add-ons available for enhanced functionality. Originally developed for CP/M machines in the early 1980s, AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs for , the industry-standard design automation software package. These products include AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Designer, as well as products from Autodesk's Emerging Businesses Group such as 3D Studio and AutoVision.
