Autodesk appoints distributor for Saudi Arabia.


Autodesk (Autodesk, Inc., San Rafael, CA, www.autodesk.com) A leading provider of computer-aided design (CAD) software, founded in 1982. It introduced AutoCAD in its first year, and three years later, became the first PC CAD company to go public. , a leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building, media and entertainment markets, has appointed Omnix International as distributor for Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia (sä`dē ərā`bēə, sou`–, sô–), officially Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, kingdom (2005 est. pop. .

The channel network expansion is a part of Autodesk's aims to boost its share in the Kingdom's design software market.

In line with its expanded business relation with Autodesk, Omnix will focus on distributing, implementation and promotion of design solutions, including AutoCAD A full-featured CAD program from Autodesk that runs on PCs, Macs and Unix workstations. AutoCAD is a de facto standard with numerous add-ons available for enhanced functionality. Originally developed for CP/M machines in the early 1980s, AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs for , as well as manufacturing solutions.

With construction contracts in Saudi Arabia expected to increase by 15.4 per cent from $52 billion in 2008 to reach $60 billion in 2010, the company has committed to maximizing the opportunities within the market by undertaking various initiatives such as educating Saudi-based organizations on the benefits of Autodesk's unique solutions in their performance and results.
