Autodesk Launches Key Market-Focused Products at Annual User Conference; Fourth Largest PC Software Company Moves Aggressively, Meets Commitments.SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1995--Delivering key elements of a product roadmap outlined earlier this year for its new markets, Autodesk today introduced four new products to its large user-base at San Francisco's Moscone Center The Moscone Center is San Francisco, California's largest convention and exhibition complex. The complex consists of two main underground halls underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, Moscone North and Moscone South, as well the three-level Moscone West exhibition hall across 4th Street. . The new products target the GIS, Data Management, Mechanical, and Education markets. The annual conference, Autodesk University, consists of four days of training, hands-on labs, exhibits and, for the first time ever, a Multimedia Film Festival (October 30 - November 2). "These announcements demonstrate Autodesk's aggressive moves into new target markets and its commitments to its customers," said James D'Arezzo, Autodesk's Vice President of Corporate Marketing, GIS and Data Management. "Autodesk has more growth opportunities than ever before." AutoCAD Map is the first in a family of products for the Geographic Information Systems/mapping market. It integrates automated mapping capability directly into AutoCAD. The Data Management product, AutoCAD Data Extension (ADE) Release 2, lets design teams organize and integrate multiple CAD drawings and related databases into a single AutoCAD environment that can be shared by the entire team. ADE Release 2 is the first Autodesk product designed with the company's object-oriented development environment, ARX. Inside Track for Mechanical Drafting and Design, jointly developed by Autodesk and Autodesk Press(a), is a new brand of interactive education material that lets new users of design (whether students, mechanical engineers, or teachers) learn on their own and explore CAD without buying the software first. In addition, the Autodesk Data Publishing group announced Volume 1.1 of its Mechanical Library that includes 100,000 more parts and 66 percent more data records than Volume 1.0. Autodesk was the first major software company to publish intelligent digital content for technical professionals earlier this year. According to according to prep. 1.
