Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADSK) today announced the availability of four industry-specific applications from its latest generation of design software for Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC), Manufacturing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) customers. Based on the new AutoCAD(R) 2002 foundation, the new releases extend the power and functionality of AutoCAD software to particular markets with capabilities for solving technical and business problems unique to each industry. Designed to not only accomplish single tasks faster and more accurately, the new applications also leverage digital design data in an automated process that improves how designers work with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.

The new applications are Autodesk(R) Architectural Desktop 3.3, AutoCAD(R) Mechanical 6, Autodesk(R) Mechanical Desktop(R) 6, and Autodesk(R) OnSite 2. Also shipping today are AutoCAD(R) 2002, AutoCAD LT(R) 2002 and Autodesk(R) CAD Overlay(R) 2002. The releases were first announced on May 15 along with Autodesk's new rental, hosting, and subscription programs, which give companies more purchase and deployment options. Each product's enhancements are centered on tightly integrating Autodesk's proven design capabilities with the distribution powers of the Internet and mobile computing as well as new tools and functionality built in for data integration, collaboration, and data delivery to the point of work.

The new applications also feature an integrated desktop and Internet work environment through Autodesk(R) Point A, a customizable global access website from Autodesk. On Point A, users get seamless access to a wide variety of resources including Autodesk products, up-to-date industry information, newsletters, and a forum to exchange ideas and collaborate with colleagues. Additionally, users can access Point A content directly through Autodesk software, enabling them to save and access their work over the Internet or a mobile device. -- Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3.3 offers architects the flexibility to work
in 3D or 2D as a design evolves, benefiting from the efficiencies of the
model-based design approach while accommodating traditional work processes. The
latest release improves design coordination with mechanical and electrical
engineers through seamless integration with the new building systems
applications due to be released early this Fall. Project collaboration is also
enhanced through expanded Internet features, including closer integration with
Buzzsaw.com, a collaboration portal for the construction industry, and its
online project hosting and printing services.

-- AutoCAD Mechanical 6 is a market leader in the manufacturing industry for 2D
mechanical design and drafting. AutoCAD Mechanical 6 includes new functionality
to drive customer productivity and support collaboration with the extended
manufacturing team.

-- Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 6, the leading mechanical design automation
system, supports 2D, 3D wireframe, 3D surface, and parametric solids modeling.
New features include improved design and detailing functionality, improved
workflow and compliance with a company's standards, new tools for leveraging
legacy data, and support for collaboration with the extended manufacturing
team.

-- Autodesk OnSite 2 is a mobile design and mapping solution for mobile workers
such as utility crews, architects, engineers and construction managers. It will
be used by large enterprises in a client/server environment or individuals as a
stand-alone application to electronically access, review, and mark up digital
design and mapping data anywhere, anytime using a Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE
handheld and tablet computing device. By delivering digital design and mapping
data to the point of work, users can break the limitations and difficulties of
working with paper drawings and maps, increase efficiency of business
