Over 250,000 drafters worldwide have left the traditional drafting board and chosen low-cost, easy-to-use, AutoCAD LT as their first step into design software. Now, many of these drafters are ready to move to AutoCAD, giving them 2D and 3D capabilities and thousands of add-on applications to provide customized solutions for architects, engineers, mechanical engineers, and for customers in the geographic information systems discipline. "AutoCAD LT is an ideal 2D drafting program for thousands of drafting professionals worldwide," said Ken Welch, director of CAD marketing at Autodesk. "However, many of these professionals want to trade-up to AutoCAD and take advantage of 3D solid modeling capabilities, high quality rendering, and a full range of customizable solutions that AutoCAD provides.
