Autodesk Announces AutoCAD(R) LT Release 2 and Introduces New AutoCAD LT Symbols.

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 1995--Autodesk, Inc., today announced AutoCAD(R) LT Release 2 for Windows(TM), a new version of the world's best-selling, low-cost, 2D computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Autodesk also announced AutoCAD(R) LT Symbols, predrawn, industry-standard symbols for architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. AutoCAD LT Symbols are only available in the United States and Canada.

AutoCAD LT Release 2 software has been enhanced to make it easier to use as well as to increase user productivity. "AutoCAD LT Release 2 has allowed me to increase my productivity immensely," said Phillip White, president, Advanced Engineering Company, Trenton, Tenn. "I'm more comfortable and more confident in my work."

New features include: quick and custom Setup routines, tooltips similar to those displayed in Microsoft(R) Office products, predrawn title blocks, properties modification via dialog boxes, on-line orientation, DIVIDE and MEASURE commands, and true associative Hatching. AutoCAD LT Release 2 also includes many user-requested features, such as Direct Distance entry and Tracking commands.

AutoCAD LT Symbols is a professional, easy-to-use complement to any release of AutoCAD LT software. AutoCAD LT Symbols include more than 1,500 industry-standard symbols in each of the architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. Customers can choose the symbols directly from the AutoCAD LT menu and simply click where the symbol should be placed, saving time and ensuring accuracy. AutoCAD LT Symbols, available on CD-ROM or diskettes, will be available in retail stores in the United States, through Authorized Autodesk Dealers, and directly from Autodesk. The suggested retail price of each AutoCAD LT Symbols is US$99.

The English-language version of AutoCAD LT Release 2 is expected to ship on April 28, 1995. Within sixty days after the English-language version ships, Autodesk will release German, Spanish, French and Italian versions. At a suggested retail price of US$495, AutoCAD LT Release 2 will be available on CD-ROM or diskettes through retail channels and from Authorized Autodesk Dealers worldwide.
