Auto-trol Selected by Lockheed Martin Space Operations to Provide Configuration Management Solutions; CENTRA 2000 Continues its Support of NASA and Lockheed Martin.

Auto-trol Technology today announced that its CENTRA 2000 Electronic Document Management and Product Data Management (EDM/PDM) application products have been selected by Lockheed Martin Space Operations (LMSO) to provide a configuration management (CM) system for several functional organizations within the Houston-based LMSO. Auto-trol, the CM system subcontractor under the 10-year Consolidated Space Operations Contract (CSOC), will provide product installation, initial system configuration, user training, and technical guidance for system architecture and process development.

The initial CENTRA 2000 deployment is to provide automation of CSOC's Change Management process to improve control of changes to products and services used by the various centers and sites within the CSOC organization. The CSOC, a 10-year contract that was awarded to LMSO by the NASA Space Operations and Management Office in October 1998, includes NASA's five main centers located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (CA), Johnson Space Center (TX), Kennedy Space Center (FL), Marshall Space Flight Center (AL), and Goddard Space Flight Center (MD).

CENTRA 2000 is providing LMSO with the ability to initiate, record, track, control, and verify changes while supporting Configuration Change Board (CCB) process automation at the CSOC Program Integration Office and other functional levels, including Enterprise Information Systems (EIS). One example of a near term plan to expand the use of CENTRA 2000 is to provide CSOC EIS with Change Management process automation and software source code library capability. CENTRA 2000 was chosen, after a rigorous and competitive selection process, because it provided off-the-shelf functionality and web support, it is Oracle(R)-based, and it offered a very cost-effective price. The initial purchase includes CENTRA 2000 primary and web servers, a variety of clients, Workflow, customization toolkits, training, and support services.
