Auto Club Begins First Day of Rose Parade Float Decorating at Rosemont Pavilion.

WHO: Approximately 100 Auto Club members will converge on Rosemont
Pavilion to volunteer their cutting, gluing and climbing skills
during the first day of decorating the Auto Club's float,
       "Family Vacation."

WHAT: The float is a fanciful depiction of the first "SUV" -
       Supersized, Ultimate Vegetarian. It's a 35-foot-high dinosaur
with a vacationing family traveling on its back in a "mobile
home." Volunteer decorators will be cutting dried flowers and
gluing onion seeds, strawflower and other non-perishable
organic coverings to the float to get it ready for the Jan. 1
       parade.

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(PHOTOGRAPHERS NOTE: Decorating is not likely to
start until 9 a.m. at the earliest, after decorator
       check-in and orientation).

WHERE: Rosemont Pavilion (adjacent to the Rose Bowl)
       700 Seco St., Pasadena

WHY: The Auto Club sponsors a float in the Tournament of Roses
Parade each year as part of its community service campaign to
raise money for charity. This year, Auto Club offices are
offering plush toy dinosaur replicas of the organization's
float in exchange for a donation of $5 or more to Orthopaedic
Hospital. Also, the Auto Club is conducting a toy drive in its
offices for young patients attending Orthopaedic Hospital's
       annual holiday party.
