Currently, the average price of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $1.576 per gallon, which is 1.4 cents lower than last week's price, 5 cents higher than last month and 38 cents higher than last year. "Even though many people take driving trips during the holidays, the overall demand for gas is weak and that helps to push pump prices lower," Auto Club spokesperson Carol Thorp said. "This is the second consecutive week for price declines in our area."
