Authoria Inc., the leading provider of personalized, Web-based, human resource communication applications, today announced that George K. Hertz, managing director of the business services group at Fidelity Capital, has joined the company's board of directors.

An expert in HR outsourcing and human capital management, Hertz started at Fidelity Capital in 1987 as president of Advanced MobileComm. He left the company for a year in 1996 to serve as president and CEO of Boston Communications Group, a wireless telecommunications company he successfully took public. Hertz returned to Fidelity Capital in his current role in 1997.

Before joining Fidelity Capital, Hertz was president of Phase One Development Corporation, an investment company focused on the communications and entertainment industries. Prior to that, he was the budget director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Hertz sits on the boards of directors of HR Logic, Professional Employer Services and The Strober Organization. Hertz has bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
